Selling your event photos, step by step.

Eight simple steps from approval to payout, and a clear picture of how the money reaches you.

1

Get approved

Every organiser is checked before they can sell, which keeps PINNED to genuine events and protects your photos and your runners.

  • Apply from your dashboard with your organisation details and the country your events take place in.
  • We aim to review every application within two working days and email you the outcome.
  • The email on the form is your account email, used for contact from us. Your login email stays the same.
2

Connect your payout account

Do this early so there is no delay when your first sales arrive. It only takes a few minutes.

  • Open the Settings tab. In the UK, Ireland, the eurozone, the USA, Canada and Switzerland you connect a Stripe account. Stripe collects your bank and identity details on its own secure pages, so PINNED never sees or stores them.
  • In Australia, New Zealand and other countries Stripe cannot pay out to from the UK, you are paid by PayPal instead. Settings shows a PayPal box: enter the email address of your PayPal account and you are set. You are paid in your event's currency, for example Australian dollars, and PayPal may convert it if your account holds a different currency.
  • Either way, payouts follow the same rules: weekly, 7 days after the event and the sale, with a remittance for every payout.

Create your event

One short form: the event name, type, date and location. Your event stays a private draft until you choose to publish.

  • Start typing your country and pick it from the list. That sets the currency for the whole event: GBP, USD, EUR or AUD. Prices, sales, reports and payouts are all in that currency, and the country and currency are required.
  • Tell us whether you have your own photographer or would like help finding one. Your commission stays the same either way.
  • Add the event date accurately. It is used to work out when your sales become eligible for payout.

Set your pricing

You decide what a photo costs. You can change pricing at any time from the event page.

  • Choose a base price per photo. There is a minimum, which depends on the event currency.
  • Pick volume pricing (the price drops when someone buys more photos) or a flat price.
  • Want to run a promotion? Request a promo code from your dashboard and we will set it up.
5

Upload your photos

Upload from the Studio. Drag in as many photos as you like; they are watermarked automatically for the public gallery, while buyers receive the full resolution original.

  • Choose the event, then drag and drop your photos. Large batches work fine.
  • Only upload photos you hold the rights to sell. You confirm this in the organiser terms.
  • Added a photo by mistake? Unsold photos can be deleted at any time.

Let AI tag the bib numbers

This is what lets runners find themselves in seconds: they type a bib number and their photos appear.

  • Run AI bib tagging on the event page. It reads the numbers for you.
  • Review the suggestions and correct any bib number by hand. A few minutes is usually enough.
  • Photos with no bib are still visible in the full gallery.
7

Publish and share

When you are happy, press Publish and your event goes live. You choose exactly when.

  • Tell your runners where to look: share your event link, the QR code on your event page, and your social channels.
  • You can unpublish at any time. Existing purchases and downloads are never affected.
  • Customers pay by card or Apple Pay and get their download link by email straight away.
8

Get paid

Payouts are made every Monday, with a clear paper trail for every one.

  • A sale becomes eligible for payout 7 days after both the event date and the sale date.
  • Your Reporting tab shows an Eligible for payout from date against every sale, so you can see when each one is due.
  • Every payout comes with a remittance advice listing exactly which sales it covers.

How the money works

From a runner's card to your bank

You never chase a payment. Customers pay PINNED, we take our commission, and your share is paid out to you every Monday once it is eligible.

1 · Sale
Runner buys
Pays by card or Apple Pay in your event's currency.
2 · Hold
7 days
Starts from the later of the event date and the sale date.
3 · Monday
Payout run
Your share is paid out every Monday, once your balance reaches the minimum.
4 · Record
Remittance
A remittance advice lists exactly which sales each payout covers.

Your share

PINNED takes a commission on each sale, 30% as standard. Your own rate is always shown at the top of your dashboard. Card processing fees are paid by PINNED and are never taken out of your share.

Currencies

Your event is priced, reported and paid in one currency, set by the country of the event. If you run events in more than one country, each currency is reported separately. Organisers paid by PayPal (for example in Australia) receive their share in that currency too. PINNED pays any currency conversion fees on its side, so they never reduce your earnings.

Keeping track

The Reporting tab shows sales, discounts, commission and your net earnings by event, a balance awaiting payout, and a CSV export for your records. Smaller balances simply carry forward until they reach the minimum payout.

Tips for more sales

Publish early
Share the link before race day so runners know where to look.
Tell runners the bib is the key
They search by bib number, so a clear bib in the shot sells photos.
Check the event date
A missing or wrong date delays when sales become eligible for payout.
Connect Stripe or add your PayPal email before race day
So your first payout is never held up.
